I Know What It Feels Like to Know — and Not Trust Yourself Anyway.
I was born to a forty-year-old mother and a seventy-year-old father — a child the doctors said shouldn’t come.
From the time I was small, I felt things. Knew things. By five, I would say something so true that grown people looked at me sideways. By seven, it made them uncomfortable.
So I learned to tone it down. To blend in. To absorb the room rather than fill it. To make myself small enough to be accepted.
Somewhere in all that toning down, I lost myself.
I Loved The Most High. But I Needed More Than I Was Being Given.
I grew up in the church. I was a pastor’s kid. Faith was home.
But over time, the institution began to feel suffocating. So I did what the woman inside me had always done — I went searching. Not away from God. Toward Sacred Presence.
I studied theology. I attended spiritual coaching school. I explored traditions and frameworks and systems, looking for the God who was bigger than any box I’d been handed.
And I found the Divine. Every time.
The road was not clean. I survived relationships that nearly cost me my life — the kind of toxic that takes root in a woman who has already learned to shrink.
What I needed in those moments was one person to say: You are not crazy. You do not have to hide. You are worthy exactly as God made you.
